I-81 Improvement Strategy Playbook and New Website Now Live

Regional Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and PennDOT District 8 leaders announced today the launch of the final Playbook for the I-81 Improvement Strategy in South Central Pennsylvania along with the new website design. The I-81 Improvement Strategy process began in July 2019 to evaluate existing transportation needs along the corridor from the Maryland border through Lebanon County. The Playbook can be viewed on the new website at www.i81southcentralpa.com.

Walmart details plans for its high-tech facility in Antrim Township

June 9, 2022 - When it opens in about two years, people working at the massive Walmart fulfillment center in Antrim Township won't have to walk up to 9 miles a day filling orders. That's one of the advantages of the highly automated system being rolled out at four next-generation fulfillment centers detailed in a news release the company issued Friday, June 3. This is the first time the retailer has publicly acknowledged that the more than 1.5-million-square-foot building going up near Exit 3 off Interstate 81 is a Walmart facility.

I-81 Corridor Coalition reveals plans for truck parking roundtable

May 31, 2022 - In partnership with the Federal Highway Administration, the I-81 Corridor Coalition is set to host a virtual truck parking roundtable discussion in June. Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia and Tennessee comprise the I-81 corridor that will be the focus of this workshop.
